Apple Cobbler

When your son knows that you can follow a recipe and operate an oven be sure to get requests for you to make him something on the fly.  And of course, how can you say no once he says please? So I got a request to make an apple cobbler.  Not sure how I am going to make it but with the help of my friend "google" I was able to find a pretty easy to follow recipe.

Here's what you need:
  5 large tart apples
  3/4 cup brown sugar
  1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
(separate into 1 tsp and 1/2 tsp)
  2 cups all purpose flour
  2 cups white granulated sugar
  2 eggs
  2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt (not pictured, I forgot!)
  1/2 cups butter melted

Preheat oven at 350F.

Core, peel and slice the apples.

Arrange apples in a pie dish or baking pan.

Stir together brown sugar and 1 tsp of the ground cinnamon.

Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture on top of the apples.

Mix together on medium speed the 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon, all purpose flour, white granulated sugar,  baking powder, salt, eggs.

Beat until mixtures looks like crumbs.

Put the "crumb" mixture on top of the apples. Cover the top up to the edges.

Pour the melted butter on top.

Bake this for about 40 to 50 minutes.

Cobbler is done when top is brown and  apples are tender. Serve warm...........

Or ala mode. Enjoy!

Got a thumbs up from my son! :)
